J.P. Harrington Bisceglia’s primary practice areas are insurance litigation and coverage. J.P.’s practice encompasses defense of insureds and defense of carriers in bad-faith litigation matters. She is an eleven-time Super Lawyers Stars selectee and has earned the Martindale-Hubbell AV-Preeminent Rating. She is a prime member of the Association of Defense and Trial Attorneys (“ADTA”). She is recognized by Best Lawyers in the areas of Insurance Law and Litigation-Insurance. J.P. is also a Fellow in the Litigation Counsel of America.
J.P. practices in Arizona and New Mexico State and Federal courts. She handles her clients’ needs from case assessment, investigation, discovery, settlement, trial, and appeal. She has spent her entire legal career working in civil defense litigation. She has represented clients in a broad range of cases, including insurance coverage disputes relating to first- and third-party claims on personal and commercial lines, bad faith, medical and other professional liability claims, and general civil litigation. J.P. was second chair at a trial on bad faith and breach of insurance contract claims which resulted in a unanimous defense verdict in favor of the insurance carrier. This verdict was designated a significant defense verdict by Arizona Attorney Magazine. She has been involved in 12 trials over the course of her career, several of which were tried to verdict. She has also completed arbitrations on a variety of civil disputes, most recently obtaining a result with a dollar value less than the amount contemplated in settlement discussions and hundreds of thousands of dollars less than the amount demanded. In all of her files, J.P. provides frank assessments of the evidence and applicable law to endeavor to obtain the best result in a given matter. J.P. prioritizes quick assessment of cases to ensure the most efficient plan is identified and utilizes discovery, pre-trial motion practice and alternative dispute resolution to ensure her clients are protected and matters are resolved in the most favorable way possible.
J.P. carries her passion for the law into her community. J.P. is a member of the Executive Board of the Arizona Association of Defense Counsel. She also serves on the diversity committees of the ADTA (Association of Defense Trial Attorneys) and the Maricopa County Bar Association.
