Kimberly W. Alcantara

Kimberly Alcantara provides legal support for all aspects of her clients’ marketing and advertising programs. Her skill set includes negotiating and drafting advertiser-agency agreements, music contracts, promotion and sponsorship contracts, brand alliance deals involving entertainment and sports properties, artist agreements, production and vendor agreements, event-related contracts, as well as agreements with talent, athletes, and influencers. Her clients also rely on her legal counsel with respect to publicity events, social media campaigns, digital content and media, advertising review, claim substantiation, trademark clearance, copyright issues, and brand licensing.

Ms. Alcantara began her legal practice with the Chicago intellectual property firm of Pattishall McAuliffe, where she advised clients on and handled litigation for trademark, copyright, false advertising, and Lanham Act matters. She was hired as Advertising Counsel by True North Communications (later acquired by Interpublic Group), the parent company of agency brands including FCB, Bozell, and Weber Shandwick. After leaving Interpublic Group as Vice President, Associate General Counsel, she returned to private practice as a partner at the Pattishall McAuliffe then later joined the in-house legal team at McDonald’s Corporation as Marketing Counsel, where she worked closely with the company’s marketing team to execute co-branded advertising and promotions as well as celebrity talent, entertainment-focused, and sports marketing campaigns. Ms. Alcantara later represented clients in private practice for many years at Friedman Law Group, a Marketing Law boutique firm that joined CM Law in spring 2025 to expand the firm’s robust client-focused service offerings.
