We are proud to announce that our Partner, Mishell Kneeland, will serve as faculty at the Deposition Skills Training and the Building Trial Skills Training hosted by the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA), taking place May 15–16 (Depositions) and May 18-22 (Trials) 2026, at Loyola University New Orleans College of Law.
For more than 50 years, NITA has set the gold standard in trial advocacy training. This immersive, hands-on program brings together leading trial lawyers, judges, and law professors from across the country to provide intensive, personalized coaching.
The program focuses on developing and refining essential skills, including:
- Applying modern persuasion science to deposition strategy
- Crafting compelling case narratives and winning trials through the art of storytelling
- Mastering the “funnel technique” to fully develop witness testimony
- Preparing and defending witnesses with confidence
- Managing difficult witnesses and opposing counsel
- Testing case theories and building stronger litigation strategies
- Understanding how to use the five major cognitive biases
- Creating closing arguments that win without arguing
- And much more!
Mishell will work directly with participants in NITA’s highly regarded “learning-by-doing” environment—guiding attorneys through simulated deposition exercises, offering real-time feedback, and sharing practical insights drawn from experience.
If you have questions about the topic, please contact Mishell directly at mkneeland@cm.law. Or click here (Depositions) or here (Trials) for more information on how to join Mishell in New Orleans. Reduced registration fees are available for attending both programs.
