Prediction markets are having a moment — and so are the regulatory questions surrounding them.
As operators, regulators, and industry stakeholders debate where prediction markets fit and who gets to call the shots, CM Law Partner Linda A. Goldstein will join the conversation at the 2026 Fantasy Sports & Gaming Association’s Summer Conference in Philadelphia on the panel, “The State of Regulating Prediction Markets.”
Because if there’s one thing lawyers and the gaming industry can agree on, it’s that when innovation moves fast, regulation tends to arrive carrying a lot of questions — and occasionally a few headaches.
The panel will unpack some of the biggest issues facing the prediction markets ecosystem, including jurisdictional battles, consumer protection concerns, market integrity, and the increasingly important roles of the CFTC and state legislatures. The discussion will also examine how prediction markets stack up against daily fantasy and sports betting frameworks — plus one particularly thorny issue: insider information.
The gaming industry rarely stands still, and neither does the legal landscape around it. Expect a conversation focused less on where things have been and more on where they’re headed.
